Archos 7 quite cool for its price

When surfing the web for an Android tablet the Archos 7 might come to your attention. It is on

sale on Amazon for just $199 which is a lot less than Kindle and iPad.

You will ask what it does. Well it is quite simple, not having a pretentious interface, it runs with 1.5 Android version and it has a pretty cool resistant display of 800 x 480.

Here comes an honest review.

Rather basic this gadget is quite cool to use at an MP3 player. The processor is ARM 9 of 600 Mhz, it had 128MB DDR – not the fastest but also not the worst combination. When you look at the price you must admit that the quality price comparison is quite realistic if you are not looking for top performance. The storage capabilities are not exactly outstanding but it has 8GB of internal memory extendable to 32 GB via a SD card.

It has a slot for micro SD memory card, a mini USB, video and jack sockets.

The most applications take around 4-5 seconds to open and getting through the menu is a walk in the park. The Android OS allows you open several applications and run them in the background.

The battery life is pretty decent and with Wifi on and contrast set at a half of its potential and with applications running, the battery lasts around 6h and 45 minutes.

The bottom line would be that Archos 7 is quite cool and quite ok for a general user that wants a slick and fun gadget at a very reasonable price.
